Although culture often encourages and reinforces positive habits and behaviors in our life, like worship, spirituality, generosity and many others, it also sometimes promotes a stigma when it comes to mental health.

On the other hand, Islam promotes mental well-being and recognizes that issues with mental health are very real and require appropriate professional treatment.

Thus, we must separate the unnecessary inhibitions and false notions of culture from the true message of Islam to seek a more complete wellness and improvement as Muslims.
